CHARITY PARTNER ANNOUNCEMENT | KEEN OXFORD
Oxford Shooting Stars are absolutely thrilled to be able to officially announce a charity partner for the coming season.
KEEN is a registered charity and a joint organisation of University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University. KEEN provide social, sporting and recreational activities for children and adults with special needs in the Oxford area.
After meeting with the team from KEEN we're very excited about this partnership for the coming season and hopefully long into the future. The Oxford Shooting Stars team feel that it's important to give something back to the community and what KEEN does for the community is hugely important, allowing children and adults with special needs to get out there, be active and develop socially through sports.
We have a very exciting list of partnered events to schedule in following on from our meeting earlier this week - including an ice skating session at the Oxford Ice Rink during October, where Shooting Stars players will be on hand to help the volunteers from KEEN and meet some of the wonderful young people who rely on KEEN so much.
We also have to schedule in other fundraising events throughout the year which we're confident the fans will support.
We will be holding an online charity auction for a custom Shooting Stars jersey and we'll see the introduction of "Goals for KEEN" where the club and players will donate to the charity for every goal scored throughout the season - plus tonnes of other exciting events through the course of the coming year.
The original Ken (Keen logo) went to a public vote for a re-design and resulted in a unanimous Ice Hockey flavoured Ken being awarded a spot on the Oxford Shooting Stars jersey for 2017.
Please join us in welcoming KEEN to The Oxford Shooting Stars Ice Hockey Club.
